Hardik presenting his Book to Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi
About
Hardik Kumar Dewan is a young Indian social entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist whose work reflects a disciplined, institution focused approach to youth leadership, sustainability, and innovation. At just 20 years of age, he has steadily built a body of work centred on translating youth potential into structured social impact, policy dialogue, and scalable solutions.
He is the Founder of the Hardik Dewan Foundation, a registered public trust recognised under CSR-1, 80G, 10A, and 12A, and incorporated with NITI Aayog. Through the Foundation, he leads initiatives spanning climate action, education, digital safety, youth policy engagement, and community development. The organisation works with schools, local communities, institutions, and policymakers to promote sustainable practices and inclusive participation, with a strong emphasis on credibility, compliance, and long term outcomes.
Hardik’s work has received recognition at the highest constitutional and institutional levels. He has been commended by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji, and the Hon’ble Former Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji, alongside appreciation from senior ministers, parliamentarians, and bureaucrats. Forbes India recognised him as a “Teenpreneur” for his impact driven ventures, and the India Book of Records (2024) acknowledged him as the youngest philanthropist in the country.
One of his flagship initiatives, Greenify India, focuses on climate action and environmental education, with an annual objective of planting 1,00,000+ trees. The programme uses biodegradable seed balls to make reforestation accessible in remote and deforested regions and actively involves schools, youth leaders, and local communities. The initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and reflects his commitment to grassroots led sustainability.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hardik conceptualised the Co-Terminator Shield, a patent pending protective device for frontline workers integrating air cooling, ionisation, air purification, SOS systems, and mobile connectivity. His pursuit of technological self reliance also led to the development of Beetle Messenger, an indigenous messaging application launched by Haryana’s Home and Health Minister, Shri Anil Vij Ji, which crossed over 20,000 downloads within its first week.
As an author, Hardik published his debut book Why India Needs Its AJNA?, launched by the Hon’ble Governor of Haryana (then), Shri Bandaru Dattatreya Ji. The book examines the need for India to build an independent and resilient technological ecosystem. His forthcoming work, Breaking Boundaries, adopts a fictional self help format to encourage young people to challenge societal limitations and pursue purpose led growth.
Internationally, Hardik represents India on several global youth platforms. He was elected as a Member of Parliament in the World Teen Parliament 2024 with over 28,000+ votes, engaging with more than 100+ international delegations and over 60+ Members of Parliament on issues of sustainability, innovation, and youth inclusion. He has also served as a youth delegate at the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 at the United Nations Headquarters, contributing to discussions on inclusive development and youth participation. In the same visit, he participated as a CSO Parliamentarian at the World Bank and International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings in Washington DC, gaining exposure to global economic governance and development finance. He was also selected to consult and participate in the Global Youth Climate Summit in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
In August 2025, Hardik organised the Youth Lead Dialogue at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, under the framework of the United Nations Youth Office’s #YouthLead Festival. The Dialogue was opened by Shri Manohar Lal Khattar Ji, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Urban Affairs, with the presence of Shri Krishan Lal Panwar Ji, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Government of Haryana, and Dr. Abhishek Verma Ji, Hon’ble Chief National Coordinator of Shiv Sena (NDA Alliance and Elections). Bringing together over a thousand young leaders, policymakers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, the Dialogue emerged as India’s largest youth driven policy forum. Its Outcome Document was formally submitted to the United Nations General Assembly, carrying the collective voice of Indian youth to the UN High Level Meeting on Youth.
Beyond institutional platforms, Hardik’s influence extends into the digital and public engagement space. He organised Haryana’s largest ever YouTubers and Influencers Meet in April 2024, bringing together over 70 leading creators and generating more than 100 million online impressions. At the event, he proposed lowering the minimum age for electoral candidacy from 25 to 21 years, advocating greater youth participation in democratic processes, a proposal presented to senior political leadership.
Hardik Kumar Dewan continues to build his work with a clear focus on institutional integrity, global engagement, and long term impact. His journey reflects a commitment to shaping a future that is environmentally responsible, socially inclusive, and led by informed, capable youth grounded in service, innovation, and purpose.

HARDIK DEWAN

Hardik Dewan’s visit to the United States marked a meaningful step in his journey as a young global changemaker. He participated in the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 at the United Nations Headquarters , engaging directly with policymakers, diplomats, and youth leaders from across the world. Representing Indian youth, he contributed to conversations on inclusive development, youth participation, and global cooperation.
During the same visit, Hardik also attended the World Bank and International Monetary Fund ( IMF) Spring Meetings in Washington DC , gaining valuable insight into global economic policy and development frameworks. The visit strengthened his international outlook and commitment to youth led global engagement.
Projects and Initiatives:

Beetle Messenger
The conceptualisation and development of the Beetle Messaging App marked the beginning of Hardik Kumar Dewan’s journey in technology led public service. At the age of 15, he became a certified game developer and Python programmer, developing an early interest in software systems and digital security. During this period, widespread concerns around data privacy and platform accountability highlighted the vulnerabilities of existing global messaging applications. Recognising this gap, Hardik set out to design an indigenous messaging platform for India, guided by two clear objectives: safeguarding user privacy and addressing national priorities. Working with sustained discipline, he devoted three months to the development of the platform. On 19 February 2021, Beetle was formally launched by Shri Anil Vij, the then Home and Health Minister of Haryana. The launch attracted attention from developers, political leaders, and the media, significantly amplifying its reach. Driven purely by public interest, the application crossed 20,000 downloads within its first week, a notable achievement for a ninth grade student. However, within three weeks of its launch, the application was unexpectedly removed from the Google Play Store. Seeking resolution, Hardik pursued the matter through formal channels and later engaged with Acharya Balkrishna, Chief Executive Officer of the Patanjali Group, who facilitated contact with a senior Google representative. Despite submitting extensive documentation, the issue remained unresolved. This experience became a defining moment, reinforcing his commitment to advocating for India’s indigenous technological ecosystem and greater institutional support for home grown digital innovation.
Co-Terminator Shield
The research centred on the development of an advanced face covering shield integrating an air cooling system, ionisation technology, air purification, an SOS alert mechanism, and mobile application connectivity to provide protection against viruses, bacteria, and hazardous chemicals. The device was specifically designed for doctors, paramedics, and frontline medical professionals dedicated to safeguarding public health. Its potential applications also extend beyond healthcare, including use in defence and other high risk environments. The profound challenges faced by healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic had a deep personal impact on Hardik. Witnessing the physical and emotional strain endured by frontline professionals, he committed six months to the design and development of the Co-Terminator Shield. A pivotal moment came after viewing a video that showed doctors removing their restrictive and exhausting PPE kits, revealing the harsh realities of prolonged use. Medical professionals were experiencing severe discomfort, including skin rashes, excessive perspiration, breathing difficulty, and plastic induced irritation caused by conventional protective equipment. These conditions not only affected physical well being but also compromised endurance and morale. Recognising the urgency of the situation, Hardik set out to create a practical, humane, and technologically robust solution. The Co-Terminator Shield emerged as an effort to restore dignity, comfort, and safety to those standing at the forefront of a global health crisis.

Why India needs its AJNA?
The book is rooted in the aspirations and long term vision of Hardik Kumar Dewan, reflecting his belief in India’s need for technological self reliance. It advocates the creation of a comprehensive indigenous digital ecosystem encompassing a home grown search engine, social media platforms, e commerce applications, over the top (OTT) services, and secure communication networks. Structured in two distinct sections, the first offers a critical examination of the subject, outlining its core features, potential benefits, and inherent limitations. It explains why India must develop its own AJNA, a term drawn from Lord Shiva’s third eye, symbolising awareness and insight. The section highlights concerns around data extraction and privacy, noting how global technology corporations collect and monetise citizens’ data, often without adequate accountability. The argument calls for India to reclaim digital sovereignty and adopt a forward looking approach to advanced technological development. The second section presents a fictional narrative centred on Sarthak, a young protagonist positioned at the forefront of India’s technological transformation. Through his journey, the book illustrates how a robust national technology ecosystem might evolve in practice. Beyond literature, the book functions as a policy oriented reflection, intended to raise awareness among citizens and policymakers alike. It embodies the author’s broader objective of initiating informed dialogue on India’s digital future and technological independence.
Hardik Dewan Foundation (NGO)
Registered Trust | 10-A | 12-A | 80G | CSR-1
The Hardik Dewan Foundation is a registered public trust recognised under 80G, 12A, 10A, and CSR-1, reflecting its strong institutional compliance and credibility. The Foundation is committed to advancing social equity and community development, with a particular focus on underserved and marginalised populations. Among its key initiatives is the Foodonation Campaign, which addresses food insecurity by providing meals to those in need, ensuring that thousands are not left hungry. In the field of education, the Foundation operates programmes for students from slum areas, supporting access to learning for children who are often excluded from formal educational opportunities. The Foundation also engages actively with the digital ecosystem. By convening prominent YouTubers and influencers, it creates platforms to discuss the importance of building India’s independent technological infrastructure and promoting responsible digital citizenship. Further strengthening its education efforts, the Foundation integrates ItsCoolApp school management software into classrooms at no cost, reinforcing the role of technology in inclusive and future ready education. From environmental initiatives such as plantation drives to food security, digital awareness, and schooling, the Hardik Dewan Foundation adopts a holistic approach to social impact. Recognised by public leaders, institutions, and civil society, it stands as a reflection of Hardik Kumar Dewan’s vision of a just, empowered, and forward looking society driven by compassion and innovation.

ItsCool App and Software
ItsCoolApp Software represents a significant step towards advancing India’s Digital India vision and reflects the technology led educational mission of the Hardik Dewan Foundation. Conceived as a comprehensive school management platform, the software streamlines academic and administrative processes through an accessible and user friendly digital interface. Designed to benefit over 2,000 students, ItsCoolApp aligns closely with the national objective of integrating technology into education, as envisioned under the leadership of Narendra Modi. The idea for ItsCoolApp emerged from Hardik Kumar Dewan’s sustained engagement with grassroots educational challenges. A strong advocate of digital transformation, he recognised that while digitisation is essential, many schools, particularly in rural and semi urban regions, face significant financial and structural barriers in adopting existing software solutions. These constraints often leave institutions dependent on manual systems, limiting efficiency and innovation. Initially, efforts were made to collaborate with established school management software providers. However, when affordability became a major obstacle, Hardik chose to pursue the initiative independently through his NGO. This decision marked a turning point, shifting the focus towards building a solution that prioritised accessibility, cost effectiveness, and practical utility. ItsCoolApp was ultimately developed with the aim of empowering smaller educational institutions with reliable digital infrastructure. By offering the software at no cost, the initiative seeks to strengthen school governance, enhance learning environments, and encourage students to engage confidently with technology. In doing so, it reinforces the Foundation’s broader commitment to inclusive education and sustainable digital development.
Foodonation Campaign
In 2023, the Hardik Dewan Foundation launched the Foodonation Campaign, a structured humanitarian initiative aimed at addressing food insecurity at the grassroots level. The campaign began in Rewari, with food distribution drives conducted at public touchpoints such as railway stations, temples, and community centres. Through these early interventions, the initiative succeeded in providing meals to thousands of individuals, creating immediate and visible impact. Building on this foundation, the organisation expanded the campaign across multiple districts in Haryana, organising regular food donation camps through coordinated, on ground action. These efforts strengthened community engagement and reinforced the Foundation’s commitment to consistent and dignified food support. A significant advancement in this mission was marked on 6 April 2023 with the unveiling of the Foodonation Appduring a food camp in Rewari. Designed to digitally connect donors with beneficiaries, the platform aims to enhance transparency, coordination, and scale. The introduction of this technology driven approach reflects the Foundation’s evolving strategy to combat hunger through both compassion and innovation, while continuing its regular physical food distribution programmes across the state.

Greenify India
GREENIFY is a flagship environmental initiative of the Hardik Dewan Foundation, conceived to drive a sustained movement towards a greener, more resilient future. Anchored in a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, the campaign addresses the challenges of ecological degradation through structured tree plantation drives, the promotion of sustainable practices, and the nurturing of a deeper relationship between communities and the natural world. The initiative is strategically aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By integrating environmental action with community participation and institutional collaboration, GREENIFY seeks to deliver measurable improvements in environmental health. Beyond addressing climate change, the campaign emphasises the restoration and protection of terrestrial ecosystems while recognising that meaningful environmental progress depends on strong partnerships. Through this holistic approach, GREENIFY reflects the Foundation’s belief that sustainability is not a one time intervention but a collective, long term responsibility.

The Youth Lead Dialogue 2025 , organised by the Hardik Dewan Foundation, was hosted at the iconic Bharat Mandapam, a venue that .
